March 9, 2008 ~ SUNDAY ![]() 6:32 am to 7:00 am Practice Its always interesting how will I be feeling at practice time. This time very calm. Brian kept me company over the boards. I landed all my jump attempts, but my spins were terrible. I made Brian tape me on the digi-cam and I couldnt get centered on any camel spins and I splatted on the damn flying camel. It was the first time that I had a coach by my side in years. I felt secure that I can just do my job on the ice and skate. Joe was very helpflul. 10:33 Warmup/Skate I felt nervous of course, the ice was extra hard and the rink felt sub-zero. I got in my loop, flip, lutz and salchow. I was slotted to skate last. I saw Jeremy land a nice axel and skate a perfect program to his new program Korbushko and Stephen skated a smooth program with his trademark in-between moves. My program content: Lutz - my blades clicked in mid-air and that caused me to abort the combination jump. Lutz/Loop - thank goodness Flying Camel - WOBBLY and probably non-existent BLAH * 1/2 straightline ftwk - I was so tired by this time and just wanted to get off the ice. Flip/Loop - I decided to add the loop at the end once again (at the last second) but this time I didnt run into the damn boards Camel - ugh * prolly traveled Ena Baur into a salchow/toe-loop - soo tired ---right into a quick scratch spin since I was behind the music. =========================================== I expected to be 2 or 3 since the spins and the footwork sequence was TRASH. The results came up and from a distance I squinted and saw my name placed second. I was about to walk away then Brian tells me "its a tie" I didnt quite get what he said so I looked closely. All of us had a final placement of "1" by our name, and the ordinals 1, 2, 3. Everybody was shocked!!! First time ever? It didnt hit me that much yet, since I'm too pissed off by my performance. 2008-03-10 15:28:49 GMT
